getting great photographs for your etsy shop is so important. i’m learning so much in the beginnings of owning and running my shop. i decided it was time to bring in a fresh look with some new photographs. how do you feel about the white on white? i believe that, when done right, it can look really good, and very professional. but mine just weren’t there yet! i was relying completely on natural light, and my backdrop consisted of two pieces of foam core board that never stood up together, things just aren’t what i want for my shop with those pictures right now.

so this afternoon i spent some time re-shooting some of the pieces for my shop. i’m going to run a little bit of late night editing and hope to have the fresh pictures posted up soon. i hope i am a little bit more satisfied . . .

it has been a long, hot, and trying week. i hope you all have the chance to squeeze in some rest and relaxation this weekend. i will have to save the r & r for a later date . . . too much to do! i have only 26 more days of making pots! yikes!

happy weekend to me! sundays are my one day each week to do exactly what i want. today is a little wet, but we’re goin out anyway for the love of photography. the priddy’s are having family portraits today. in the rain. but i have complete faith in kaley . . .

and with a new countdown on my phone, i have exactly 32 days, 20 hours, 53 minutes and 12 seconds to complete all of these pots for the craft fair in june. oooh boy . . . i better spend the second half of my day in that studio!

sometimes i see something so beautiful that i must pull the car over and snap a picture. today it was the sky. driving through the flint hills on a gorgeous day just can’t be beat. i know i’ll miss that about kansas when i leave.

yep! the priddy’s are having another little baby! tonight we had the ‘gender reveal’ party at varsity donuts! a big group of us all met up for some blue or pink filled donuts! what a fun way to reveal to friends and family that you’re having a baby boy or girl. and a huge thanks to varsity donuts for being so cool. how sweet of them to be the first to find out the gender and surprise samantha and aaron!

its a boy!! for some reason this surprised me big time! i thought for sure they would have another baby girl, but who can really tell when its just a guess??

and there’s the whole gang! thank you sam and aaron for inviting me and sharing this wonderful news!

i’ve been accepted for my very first indie craft fair! i have 42 days to make and glaze at least 200 pieces of pottery. holy holy holy shit. (i mean, i’m sorry but there are no other words) not to mention coming up with booth decoration, business cards, tax information, and who knows what else!

i’m excited beyond belief, but also asking myself ‘can i do this?!’

good thing i have some new work being started . . .

you could say i’m a little bit passionate about sandwiches. there is just something so magical about sandwiches.

i turn to a tofu salad sandwich, with sharp cheddar cheese, hummus, onions and lettuce on some wheat bread when times are troubling me. (of course i turn to the naughty stuff too) this sandwich is one of the things i will miss the most about manhattan. i get these at people’s grocery in the green leaf deli. its almost like pulling up a stool at your favorite bar and getting a drink. that’s what this sandwich does for me.

annnd i’ve got to get one of these this week. i think i even have a sandwich card all filled up!
