hot tea and wintery things
12.07.2012
chilly afternoons are now all about drinking my hot tea and hanging out in my favorite sweaters. i’m starting to love this chilly weather, and i’m hoping for a lovely, bone-chilling weekend! ha! too bad it is supposed to be in the 60s.
happy weekend to you! i’m a busy studio bee this weekend. . . i hope to be around here next week…
although, i’m seriously busy. like…shut-myself-down-in-the-studio-and-only-let-me-up-to-use-the-bathroom, busy.

how she wore it
11.28.2012
well, here’s a first for ya! i’m sharing an outfit post with you and i’ve teamed up with one of my ban.do friends, whitney curtis from the curtis casa! today we’re telling you how we wore our sequined, classic ban.do heart.
obviously weekends are the best, especially when you can spend your day rummaging through antique shops with one of your best friends. that’s what last weekend consisted of for me. a lot of new-to-me goods were found, and a lot of laughs were shared. that’s what saturdays are for. and a big sequined heart from ban.do is just the accessory i need to add a little sparkle to any saturday. see how whitney wears her sequined heart right over here!

boots: old navy, pants: h&m (similar), peplum top: target (similar), blazer: h&m, sequined heart: courtesy of ban.do

thankful doesn’t even begin to describe it
11.21.2012
it’s that time of year again when i ask myself “why don’t you act this thankful and appreciative during the rest of the year?”
i give myself a slap on the wrist! i have so many daily reminders of all of the great things and people in my life, but i am behind on bringing these blessings to light, slowing down and just being thankful. i’m so blessed to have the greatest guy in my life, a family who supports and loves me, a job, shelter, food, friends – all things that i forget to appreciate sometimes. so i’m going to make a point to change that, and to take better care in being thankful.
so, happy thanksgiving! i’ll be taking a short break from my blog world – my thoughts need to be recollected, and to be honest, i’m in a bit of a creative rut. somedays i wake up not knowing what to make and what to say. how do you pull yourself out of it?
and i am way behind on several shop orders. ah, dang it. happy turkey day!

pocket contents
11.12.2012
well the weather has finally changed over here. and with it came a mighty head cold!
i’m happy to be cozied up in big sweaters and coats with deep pockets, plenty of room for all my goodies to keep me healthy and happy. tissues, burt’s bees (ultra moisture lip treatment & lemon butter cuticle cream), my ban.do flair & my sassy little business cards they gave me (so cute!) plus my new favorite throat lozenges…sugar free green tea & echinacea! (it’s the little things these days that just really make me happy.)

guys. this is my three-day weekend and i’ve been sidelined with a bug. i’m totally behind on studio work, blogging and cleaning my house. and to make things worse, i missed out on a lovely morning of estate sale-hopping and sushi eating. sickness never comes at a good time, does it?
so, i’m super-hydrating, tea drinking and ricola-ing. what are your secrets to kicking a cold in the rear quickly? i can hear my mom in the back of my head saying, ‘drink lots of water.’
farewell to summer
11.05.2012
it officially got chilly here for me. so i’m saying goodbye to my favorite season. goodbye to tank tops, freckles and longer days.
(good thing ban.do works all year ’round!)
but the weather in kansas is never very predictable . . .

this day
10.15.2012
today i got to spend the day with the ever-talented kaley cornett. we had serious girl time, and it was a picture-filled, perfect day. yes, even hardhats were involved. and to document this day in our friendship-history, it was the first time we’ve ever been in trouble for trespassing while taking pictures. haaa…sorry

wedding weekends
10.10.2012
being a bridesmaid in one of my best friend’s wedding was a true honor, and i can honestly say i have never seen a more beautiful bride.
but whoa. what a whirlwind of activity a wedding can be! it sure does make me think – can i handle something as stressful and big as a wedding? definitely makes elopement sound pretty nice.
not that i’m planning or anything.
seriously.
but anyway. the bride thought of every little detail to make her friends and guests feel special. everything turned out perfectly, despite how cold it was! (it definitely got hard to smile in so many outdoor pictures in 48 degree weather in a strapless dress…)
but just look at that stunning cake!
those delicious wedding mints were heaven sent. and the golden chocolates were right up my alley.
i should have known her wedding would be absolutely gorgeous! every single detail was just perfect.
and i got to spend some quality time with one of my sweetest friends, caroline, who moved to germany 2 years ago. my heart is warm and full. i had such a great weekend.
