i’m one of those lucky people who has all four grandparents still alive and a part of my life. i truly feel warm inside whenever i think about the four of them. a few years ago my grandmother got me some cooking supplies and a nice vintage hand mixer, just out of the blue. she threw in this sweet note which i love for many reasons.

first of all, any handwritten note makes me happy, but this one especially. i love my grandmother’s handwriting (i mean, that E in my name is just perfect) and even though the message is quite simple, it means so much to me. i have it hanging up in my kitchen in a prominent place where i see it every time i start something new. another thing i love about this note is that she recycled it from an old card that someone wrote to her. she tore off the front of the card and turned it into a postcard. my grammy, she even reuses wrapping paper! i love that woman.
