this is one of my most prized possessions. a sculpture made and given to me by my professor, yoshiro ikeda. he moved to portland, oregon in july, and he’s been on my mind all the time since. what a lucky ceramicist i was. i got to work side by side with this man during his final years of teaching, and sadly some of his final years of health. he gave me this sculpture for helping with some work around his house before he moved. i wish i still got to talk with him everyday like i used to.
