friday giveaway! -closed-

8.31.2012

it’s the first-ever giveaway over here! winning is always fun, and i want to share this little handmade bud vase with one lucky reader as a sign of my appreciation for all of the kind words and support over the last year. i have had some small victories along the way that i couldn’t have done without my family, friends and my supporters. so thanks, big time!!

all you need to do is leave a comment telling me what color of flowers you think would look best in this little bud vase…in my mind, i see magenta! (i need to find a flower shop in wichita!)

i’ll randomly select a winner next friday september 7th! (entries for the contest will close at 11:59 pm thursday september 6th) *sorry, but this is only open to US residents only  *family members are eligible to win, but i can promise drawing a winner will be purely based on luck. : )

*more gold spotted vases are coming to the shop soon!

feelin’ overJOYed!

i’m so excited! i was picked to be a brand ambassador for one of my favorite brands out there: ban.do, the super-girly, super-pretty accessories line! i applied to be a part of their ground project, and who would have thought i’d actually make it! i woke up to the email this morning, and i was smiling big all day. (turns out my friend laura will be a ban.do brand ambassador too! hooray for kansas girls!) you can expect to see a lot more around here about this brand in the very near future!

time for this girl to start thinkin’ of some new accessories to add to her little collection . . .

beautiful isolations photography

8.28.2012

i ‘met’ my friend sarah reeves purely by being drawn to her photography, and i discovered her beautiful work when i first saw my friend megan‘s wedding photos. i have admired megan’s relaxed and gorgeous style from the day i met her! she bought the flowers from the farmer’s market on the morning of the wedding, and she did all of the florals herself, even the boutonnières.

megan and ike were married in a small countryside chapel and sarah did such an amazing job capturing how perfect and beautiful their day was. i am continuously inspired by sarah’s work, especially knowing how well she captured the beauty and spirit of megan and ike.

i love the scattered yellow balloons! how happy and sweet on your wedding day.

megan was barefoot, and they included their dog in the ceremony! i just love when couples do that. megan told me she bought several white dresses leading up to her wedding, purchasing them on etsy and in different vintage shops. she had a few different options to choose from, and i love that about her! she choose such a beautiful dress, and her sister’s mint dress was so perfect for that day.

and it appears to me that several cakes is the way to go!

view sarah’s work right here. i love looking through all of those wedding photos!

sundays are by far my best day of the week. i make sure that sundays are all mine, no one else’s. on sundays i love spending time in my studio, cooking for my guy, or sometimes just being lazy.

happy sunday – its my favorite!

do you ever find yourself without words, without anything to say? i’m feeling awfully quiet today. but happy. so, so happy. i have a new job on monday and i’m ready to pour my heart and soul into it. i’m just feeling quietly thankful, and i think that is okay for now. as for you, blog of my dreams – - i’ll be back when i’m feeling a little more talkative.

this is cool

8.23.2012

when the new ceramics monthly magazine arrived in my mailbox the first page i open to has luke‘s feature on it. it was the nceca 2012 national student juried exhibition review and he was really thrilled to read the article. this is the second time he’s been in this magazine! i am so proud of him, and it feels pretty cool just to know him.

my friend lauren wrote the featured article on kristen kieffer‘s gorgeous work. you really ought to check it out!
