DC picture recap

7.05.2012

ahhh, my trip to washington, dc! it was such a fantastic four days. hot, but truly fantastic. it was great to get to visit my nation’s capital, and learn a little more about the history of my home. the first day was spent walking along the national mall and memorial parks. i was blown away to see some of these monuments in real life. i loved it! multiple days were spent in the national gallery of art and the museum of american history, we squeezed as much as we could into our short time there, but i know we barely scratched the surface with what there was to do! my friend rachael is there right now and i’m totally reliving it all through her and her instagram photos!

decorating homes is one of my favorite things

7.02.2012

every time i get close to moving days i always get excited about re-decorating my space, and the opportunity to have a new space. and this time, i’m moving in with my boyfriend and i get to add all of his things (and art he’s collected) into my space . . . i guess, our space. i told him i’d try my best not to get too decorate-y on him too soon.

this room has always been an inspiration for how i’d love my bedroom space to look. colors, prints, and neutrals . . .

i find so many etsy shops with gorgeous product photography. its one of the things i struggle with in my own shop and am constantly trying to change. margriet kramer’s etsy shop, lukkili has gorgeous shop photos along with gorgeous ceramic pieces, like these vases. i might have to work on mine this week . . .

back in my state

what a hot and crazy time in washington, d.c.

i am so happy to be home now. my family had a great time on the trip, besides our last night when we were hit with storms and power outages – we were evacuating the 9th floor of our hotel in pitch black staircases in 104 degree heat at 7:30 in the morning. and yesterday we spent the day in 3 different airports. i am reminded how exhausting travel can be!
