honestly, i almost forgot about valentine’s day this year. (shame on me!!) it wasn’t until luke called me last night and said “where should i take you for our date tomorrow night?” that i even thought about having a romantic night! so, happy valentine’s day to you and the one you love!
i first noticed derek wilson’s ceramics a few months back. pretty stunning, huh? with the potter’s wheel being his primary tool, he centers on making a diverse range of contemporary ceramic pieces. and the photographs from his website are truly stunning. something i’d like to practice is photographing my work in use, and surrounded with everyday objects– similar to the way he captures his work. i love it all!

ok ok, i don’t want to ruin all the details for you all but this is just too good not to show you. just another preview into luke‘s show, which opens tomorrow! (for all of you manhattan people, the mark a. chapman gallery in willard hall is where its all going down . . . open 10-5 monday-friday . . . and the closing reception is friday february 24, from 5-8pm! i’m in charge of all of that food, so come hungry! oh, and bring your checkbooks! all the art is for sale.)

i must say my favorite drink has to be a sassy little bloody mary. this recipe and food post from designlovefest (besides being designed and photographed beautifully) looks like it will be just the thing for this fun little weekend. lots of birthday celebrating and helping luke get things ready for monday!
