If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel – as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them- wherever you go.

Thinking a lot about 2012…

12.28.2011

I want to make 2012 my most positive year yet. Every new year I have excited feelings and I become inspired to change and grow. A few years ago I reached a very long over-due goal and I snapped out of my old health habits. I started eating whole foods, drinking tea, taking vitamins and supplements, and became much more active. About 3 years ago I was unhappy and overweight. And now I’ve reached a happier and healthier state. I only want to continue and work harder at it to become even healthier. So I wanted to share that here, to help in keeping myself accountable.

These 5 tips came from Yokoo, but they are so good I just needed to share them here.

“my thoughts on how I will make 2012 a better year.

1.) What you feed your mind is as important as what you feed your body. Be mindful of what you subject your mind to this new year. Cut your T.V. time in half! Introduce yourself to new music, listen to some self help podcast. Think about what type of person you want to be.

2.) Open your mind and just be still. Make time to let you mind relax and embrace uncertainty.

3.) Stop your complaining. How often do you complain? Complaining may feel good at that moment but try spending a whole week without making one complaint and see what a difference it makes.

4.) End all negative relationships. This includes family members too. You don’t have to shut everyone out but know who to keep at a distance.

5.) Don’t air out your business to your friends and family every time you have a problem. Become your own friend. You were born knowing everything you need to know. It’s called instinct. You know in the inner most part of you, right from wrong.”

TEA PRESS! I got this beautiful tea press from my sister for Christmas. I couldn’t be more thrilled!! Just like a coffee press, it infuses the most delicious aromas from my favorite teas. I can sit at my desk with an entire pot of my favorite tea or pull it out for entertaining guests. Try it out from Bodum—its the best selling tea maker in their collection!

Good morning! I awoke this morning in my old bed at my folks’ house, and I must say, I am so relaxed. It feels good to be home and have a break from my normal and busy schedule. The holidays sure do feel nice this year! I sure do miss my sweetie though….
