I don’t have cable, so I really don’t watch too much TV. But there are a few shows that I reserve some free time and internet access for, and Wilfred on FX is one of them. I love this show for many reasons, and last week’s episode was really my favorite. At the end I even cried my silly self like a little baby.

and it just made me miss this little guy so much.

I had a long day yesterday when I was hoping for a lazy Sunday. I had planned on sleeping in and then making art all afternoon, but I remembered I had a work meeting. What I had hoped would only last 1 hour, lasted about 2 and a half. So I became completely unmotivated!

But then, on the cap of my bottle of green tea were the words “don’t just sit there, do something” HAHA! So I headed over to the studio and got to work! I was so glad that I did because I found Luke doing the same thing, and we turned it into an outdoor, grilled pizza, beer drinking, art making party! Besides the mosquito bites, it was a perfect evening!

today was great.

And still is.

Luke and I spent the morning in Lawrence and Kansas City. We went to Bracker’s- the greatest ceramic supply store a girl could ask for! Got some new tools, casting slip, glazes, I am almost set! Tomorrow I will spend my first afternoon casting my things and getting to work on my art! It is time to get the shop up and running and ready for business. Because I’m getting antsy!

We picked up this sculpture, [ahem, bestinshow]…and we were pleasantly surprised to see that this sculpture sold! The power was out for quite a while in the River Market and I was so upset to find that The Farmhouse was closed because of the lack of power. I visited The Farmhouse a few years ago with my mom and my sisters and it was one of the greatest meals. The ketchup was homemade with fresh tomatoes and the waiter asked me if I wanted a to-go cup [he caught me licking the dish it was served in!] It’s the tip-to-tail method and they use the best of the available crops from local farmers. The menu is always changing, it is so delightful!

But, we ended up just driving back to Lawrence and enjoying a local burger at Local Burger. All in all, a great day. And it is Luke’s mom’s birthday today! We are wishing we could spend the day with her to celebrate!

And at the very end of this video, you can see Luke’s dad greeting President Obama when he stopped in their home town of Decorah, Iowa. Awfully exciting!
